Shiloh Lodge #327
May 2001 Trestleboard
From the East
- I would like to thank everyone for attending last
months business meeting that included a visit from Prince Hall's
Grand Historian Russell W. Hobson.
-
- It seems that the ladies program was a great
success, so I think that we will do it again. We will be having
Carl and Lynn Monico presenting Fall Fashions for the ladies from
their store, The Nile. So, guys get your wallets out in
September.
-
- On May 30th we will have our annual cookout.
Please bring one side dish to share, and a meat dish for yourself.
Hope to see all of you there.

- Fraternally Yours,
- John T. Maxell

- Important Notice
-
May 9th, Shiloh Lodge will be presenting Brother
John Richart with his 50 year Mason pin.
-
- This is a great honor that few brothers reach. So
we should all make an effort to attend Lodge that night and
congratulate him on this accomplishment.
-
- Also, as you may have noticed Shiloh Lodge is
having a fund-raiser. But the idea of this not just to raise funds
for the lodge but a time to build fellowship. This is one of the
main reasons that gentleman join the Masons. So ask your neighbor,
a member of your family, or good friend to let you show them how
much fun a Masonic group can be!

- The Grand Lodge of Nebraska
Education Committee has recommended the following book to improve
our knowledge of Freemasonry.
-
- Revolutionary Brotherhood;
- Freemasonry and the
Transformation of American Social Order 1730-1840
- By Steven C Bullock
-
- Tracing Freemasonry from its
beginnings in early 18th century through to early 1800 America,
the author give us a detailed, unbiased look at how Freemasonry
contributed to the American culture of democracy, individualism
and sentimentalism. This book is a must for all Masons.
