  From the East

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather conditions to attend our February Business Meeting.

The Job's Daughters Bethel #69 will have their Annual Box Dinner on March 7th. Please call and let me know if you are attending.

Congratulations to Phil Lorenzen on his Installation as Grand Master of Nebraska. Phil's Installation was one on the most enjoyable Masonic functions that I have attended. Shiloh is proud to have one of it's own Brethren elected to this prestigious office. Let's support Phil in any way that we can.

A special thanks to Russ Mason for once again taking another term on the Templecraft Committee. As you know Russ has served for a number of years on this committee. There's nothing like dedication.

We will have a Pancake feed on April 29th at Shi-Oma. Tickets will be mailed and I am taking reservations for volunteers.

Fraternally Yours,

John T. Maxell

The Grand Lodge of Nebraska Education Committee has recommended the following book to improve our knowledge of Freemasonry. Beneath The Stone: The Story of Masonic Secrecy

By C. Bruce Hunter

In this book, the author explores the idea of the roots of Masonic secrecy. For nearly three centuries both Masons and non-Masons alike have been excited and curious about "Masonic Secrets". What are those secrets and how did they becomes important to us? The book takes an in depth looks at that question. A very entertaining book, you may not agree with the conclusion but it will certainly make you think!
