 From the East

Greetings from the East! What a privilege and honor it is to be able to say that.

I want to Thank everyone who helped make the installation of Shiloh’s 2002 Officers a success. A special Thanks from the 2002 Officers to the Installation Team. What an honor to be installed by the distinguished team of MW\ Phil Lorenzen, MW\ Charles Amidon, W\ Ivan Vrtiska, and W\ Jim Gathmann.

Now we have to get to the business at hand. Our first candidate of 2002 is Gary Jacobson who will receive the Entered Apprentice Degree February 20th. Let’s give Gary a warm welcome with a good turn out. The EA is very important to a candidate and it is especially important that he sees an active group of Brothers to wish him well.

Your officers have a great calendar of events planned for the coming year that should offer ample opportunity to socialize and have a little fun! Watch for announcements!

There are three projects that I would like to see come to fruition in the coming year. The first is to establish a budget for Shiloh. Second,. a pamphlet outlining a brief history of Shiloh that could be given to candidates along with the other pamphlets we hand out on Masonry. The third project is putting together job descriptions for the various offices. Besides the ritual and floor work we are responsible for, there seems to be other duties that come as surprises to new officers. To have a well functioning Lodge everyone should know their responsibilities.

I will be calling on our Past Masters and other knowledgeable Brothers to help with these projects.

I am looking forward to 2002 and think we are going to have a great Year.

Fraternally Yours,

Dale W. Nelson
Worshipful Master 2002
