Shiloh Lodge #327
December 1999 Trestleboard

  From the East

Random thoughts from the big chair in the East -

Boy has this been a busy couple of months - Shiloh Raises two new masons, with another Brother going through the One-Day in Papillion, and now we are in the middle of proving up the Lodge for 2000. In addition, we had Elections for Officers (congrats to Rick - that will teach you to miss a meeting!) Finally - Our Annual Christmas Pot-Luck Dinner will be Wednesday, December 1 at 6:30 pm, right before our monthly Business Meeting. Brother Dale Nelson's calling committee will be contacting you to help remind everyone.

It was sure good to see Brother Russ Mason up and about last week. I'm glad to see him out of the hospital and back to Lodge. It sure is a lot easier doing a degree with him around - I think he is the only one around that knows where everything is.

Thanks for everyone who helped at the degrees the last couple of weeks, I hope we can continue to get volunteers on the 8th when we prove up the lodge in EA and Fellowcraft. Bro Dale Nelson (he does just about everything around here) will be calling you.

Most Worshipful Jim Brown was in attendance at our last Business to introduce the Grand Chaplain for the year 2000 - none other than our own Ivan Vrtiska. It is a true honor for our Lodge to have two Grand Lodge Officers, Brother Ivan and Rite Worshipful Phil Lorenzen. Remember that he will now be Very Worshipful Ivan Vrtiska.

Only a couple of more times to listen to me open and close the Lodge, this time just might be the time I get it right, so…

See you in Lodge

Fraternally yours,

J. Scott Oglesby
Worshipful Master - 1999

Brother Hal McMinn went under the knife this morning for hip replacement. He will be at Immanuel for a few days. Give him a call and wish him well.

We would like to provide support to our brethren in times of distress and celebrate with them in times of gladness. Please immediately inform any of your lodge officers of such information regarding yourself or a brother.
