Shiloh Lodge #327
April 2002
 Trestleboard

 From the East

Michael Jones, Grand Master, has outlined aggressive and interesting programs for his tenure. They include: increasing Masonic membership; communicate the Masonic Message in our community and within our respective lodges; encourage Masonic memories by remembering our widows and our Brothers who are unable to attend communications; have social functions for the entire Masonic Family of our lodge; support our Youth Groups, and develop activities for our lodge.

Grand Master Jones has challenged each lodge in Nebraska to increase it’s membership by 10% in 2002. Within the Grand Lodge budget for 2003 is anticipated income of $17,000 from 1700 initiations during 2002. Under this formula, Shiloh’s goal would be 15 new petitions. This will be a challenge so let’s be thinking how we can accomplish this goal.

Monitoring the progress of respective lodges will be done under Grand Lodge officers who will call on assigned lodges 3 or 4 times a year. These officers will offer assistance in developing plans to meet goals. We will be hearing more about this during the coming year.

Two important events this month are the Bowling Outing Saturday, April 27th and the Pancake Breakfast, Sunday April 28th.

The bowling outing is a new event chaired by J\ W\ Cleo Miller. Give either Cleo or W\ John Maxell a call with your teams, individuals call to be matched up with a team. So bowlers, let’s get out and support this event and have some fun at Maplewood Lanes..

This year’s Pancake feed is a fund raising event for Shiloh’s $800 share of the new tile floor in the kitchen.

W\ "Flap Jack" Jim Gathmann will be the head Chef and through his superb culinary skills will direct the serving of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, juice and coffee from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM

Four tickets for the Pancake Feed are included with your copy of the Trestleboard. If you are unable to sell or use them, we encourage you to send a check to Shiloh Lodge for any unsold tickets to help out in this fund raising event. And by the way, be sure and take a look at the kitchen renovation as you pick up your vitals.

Fraternally yours,

Dale W. Nelson, Worshipful Master
